Shayna EcoUnified India Pvt.Ltd.-Shayna means Shine and EcoUnified is the vision we have as we want to unify and bring a one-stop-shop solution for all things related to recycling, pollution, and environment. We want to make a sustainable and eco-friendly living into an everyday reality
Founder- Mr.Paras Saluja
Paras is an Entrepreneur, environmental advocate, Product inventor, TEDx Speaker and Founder and Director of Shayna EcoUnified India Pvt. Ltd. His realization for waste plastic management happened when he reached Everest base camp and saw plastic dumps on the
world's most beautiful place. Since then he invested his time & energies in strategizing an effective and end-to-end plastic waste management solution which was both capable of backing
up rural and urban infrastructure.
Paras's effort was recognized under the Government's Startup India campaign. He is a visionary with several years of corporate experience that he brings to Shayna Ecounified India Private Ltd. Shayna Econunified has been admired and applauded by CNBC, BBC, CNN, YourStory,
The Logical Indian, Brut India in its past 2 + years of its existence. Within this timeline, Paras has been able to bring onboard several Governmental Bodies, Private Companies like L'oreal, TATA Motors, Municipal Corporations of Gurugram and Hyderabad to solve plastic pollution
crisis by deploying HDCP tiles in their principal offices.
Recycle isn't a new concept but the products that have been made previously came in contact with skin, and we wanted to make a product which was made from waste, but we didn't want it to touch the skin directly.
Also, these products are not recyclable again as they would lose their
strength and durability and do not have a long shelf life. To reduce the plastic waste problem, we wanted to introduce a product which was used by all, especially in construction work. This way, we have the control that it doesn't come in contact of skin and vast amounts of waste can be recycled and used as there is always some or the other construction happening somewhere or other. So, we knew that this was the right product which met all our requirements keeping the focus of recycling maximum plastic waste in the process.
Growing up, I became an avid traveler, and during one of my trips, I was in Vietnam where I saw that they were very aware and sensitive about the waste they produced and how they managed to dispose or use it.
That is when it struck me that India is a big and populated country with a
huge problem of waste being produced daily but not disposed of properly. I had decided to do something about it in my home country, and when I came back, I started my research, met and
collaborated with people who made it possible and as a result, Shayna Ecounified was born.
Initially, we thought that the waste which no one wants, and no one can use will be available at no cost to us and we could not have been more wrong in our assumption.
We must buy and incur a cost for something that economies are trying hard to find a solution for. That is when we realize that everything will come at a price including reducing the problem of unfathomable
We had to create a breakthrough to establish a brand name and thrive in the country like India, where set mindsets are a huge challenge. People often talk about climate change, saving the environment but they seldom do something, especially if money is involved.
Also, since bigger changes can be noticed through government involvement, and currently, we are facing issues in getting our listing done schedule rates.
Another challenge I faced was that even though I have experience of handling a business, I was clueless about the working and dynamics of Environment industry as I had no prior background
of it or the science that went behind it.
This is a new technology that uses plastic scrap and waste disposed of by all of us. Traditionally one uses cement tiles which produce a high amount of carbon emissions, uses huge amounts of water and energy. Also, it cannot be recycled.
These recycled tiles don't require any new raw material, we use the already disposed of plastic. Which is essentially a waste product as our raw material to produce more sustainable and long-lasting tiles which don't break, erode and wear and tear as quickly as any other product that exists in the market today.
It can be recycled again, does not produce any carbon emissions, saves
energy and water, the polymers used in our products are not hazardous as they do not release poisonous gases and the process is under control. Its manufacturing time is much lesser than the cement tiles.
These tiles are corrosion resistant, acid-proof, recyclable, heat resistant, anti-skidding, anti-static, unbreakable and have an exceptionally long shelf life. They are also nice to look at as they add color to everything.
Yes, we have our future plans in place. Our new product prototypes are ready; however, due to the pandemic and change in the world economic situation, we have postponed the launch of these products commercially.
Also, as a start-up, we currently have limited resources, and we plan to look at various opportunities available to grow in scalability, process, market value, funds, products offered etc
