BollyBeatz is a dance Fitness studio inspired by Bollywood.
BollyBeatz is a dance Fitness studio inspired by Bollywood. I started my first Bollywood Dance studio (www.bollybeatz.com) in Silicon Valley, California in 2002. In five years, I had 450 registered students, six instructors and a fledging flexible business born out of my passion for dance. I was giving opportunity to people who worked in full time jobs to teach part time for me on weekends so they could also live their passion for dance. It soon became a community of dance lovers, Bollywood lovers. We all became a big group of friends... not to mention that I was earning well just working two hours a day. And the two hours that I worked were not work - they were pure fun.
Nidhi is the creative head, business owner of BollyBeatz. She has Franchised the Dance Studio model world over. Travelled worldwide conducting Dance fitness workshops and opening centers. She is a B.Com (Hons) graduate from Lady Shri Ram College, New Delhi. She completed her MBA at SP Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai and landed her first job with McKinsey & Co. in New Delhi.
Today Nidhi not only runs and manages BollyBeatz but also runs a kids Brand www.NeedyBee.com which specializes in Head2Toe Dressing for Baby & Kids as a conscious kids brand which uses only pure and natural fabrics and chemical-free dyes to keep the kids safe and happy!
BollyBeatz is a Dance Fitness studio. Weteache a range of classes, including BollyArobix™, BollyChoreo, Zumba , BollywoodYoga and BabyBeatz. Nidhi has also successfully created dance routines for music videos, cultural festivals, Corporate workshops and concerts . The classes are super energetic, Intense and tremendous fun!
Our Bollywood "MASALA" sessions are a chance to explore and discover the Bollywood dancer within you and your team
In the Bollywood workshop, participants are taught simple Bollywood dance steps and before they realize it, the whole group begins dancing. These steps are gradually built as a sequence - first footwork, then hand movements followed by eye and facial expressions until all are combined. Within a very short period participants are able to learn an entire dance routine.
By the end of the session, participants will leave the workshop smiling, humming the music in their head and practicing the hand movements on their way out!
Some of our corporate clients include British American Tobacco, Nestle, Goldman Sachs, Cisco, Google, Yahoo!, INSEAD, Stanford, NEA, ITE College,HP, Exxon Mobil, True Yoga, Standard Chartered, Genpact India, P&G and more...
We have conducted team building workshops overseas in Bangladesh, France, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, USA, Japan
Leadership to me is to inspire others around you to expect and deliver better from their ownself. To give them freedom to evolve and create their own paths. At BollyBeatz my first instructor that I hired in 2003 is till date a part of BollyBeatz. I believe in giving space and freedom to all my colleagues and employees to become their own. That is why I feel they have all stuck by the company for so many years. I have groomed, encouraged, counseled women to empower themselves to think better and bigger for themselves.
I loved dancing since childhood. I always took part in all the school events and choreographed dances and had even joined the ShaimakDavar's classes as my stress relief mechanism when in B-School. But dance was for fun. Never even once thought of making a career out of it. Besides what would my parents think! Dance as a career - no ways! I was a good student so corporate job was the best option for a person like me!
Overcoming the resistance from people that this may not be the best career move, and to continue believing in myself and my passion was the biggest challenge
I am fortunate and blessed to be born a woman in this free world. I have been fortunate to receive great educational and work opportunities, and had the privilege to live and travel around the globe and understand and appreciate various cultures, temperaments and ethnic backgrounds. It is my moral responsibility to give back to the society and universe what I have received. If I can inspire anyone to pursue their passion for dance and create a profession out of it and find true happiness in their work I will feel a job well done.
Awards are only a means to facilitate stories that can inspire others and encourage them to walk the path less travelled. We are trained to study and take up good jobs. That defines success in our society. Very few of us have the privilege to break free from that frame and get a chance to pursuit what truly makes us happy.
When we read or hear someone talk about their journey of a passion they chose to pursue despite all odds and being successful with it – it inspires us to give ourselves that chance too. To give it a try if we can also pursue our dream.
My life has been full of meeting great people, being inspired by others, following my instinct and dreams, striving to learn new things, and improving myself as a person. I want to share the same with others. I want them to believe that this world is a beautiful place, where we can make our dreams come true and live those dreams as a reality. Success is not defined by money that we earn or have in our bank. To me success is being happy at what I do, maintaining a balance between my personal and professional life, seeing my kids play and laugh, cooking a hot meal for my family, helping a stranger cross the road, laughing with a friend, having a mind share with a person who inspires me and helps me push my boundaries a bit more, receiving an email from someone who attended my lecture saying that they have decided to pursue their passion and not just become a doctor because that’s what the norm is!
One life at a time – one person , one woman, one student at a time … If I can touch even one life and make it more fulfilling for them – that’s a reward itself!
You have inherited these leadership qualities from your parents and excelled further.Wish you the best in life ,keep it up. It really feels nice to see you growing by the dint of your hardwork & forsightedness.God bless you.
